The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) this month published its Special 301 Report. The USTR is responsible for developing and coordinating US international trade, commodity, and direct investment policy, and overseeing negotiations with other countries.
We at OpSec summarized the key findings of this report to give you an overview of the IPR status in selected countries. The report lists IPR issues in countries where the US is especially concerned about IPR violations and lack of enforcement. The US is especially concerned about the situation in Ukraine, which tops the USTR’s priority watch list this year. Internet piracy remains a challenge in countries such as Brazil, Italy, and Russia.
