NEWS: DANGEROUS COUNTERFEITS: WHERE NOT TO REGISTER FOR YOUR BABY SHOWER

Our latest rogue site of the week, PickOfChina.com, illustrates that counterfeiters do not discriminate based on product safety concerns when it comes to selling their fakes through rogue sites. PickOfChina.com has a wide selection of products, but we found the abundant inventory of nursery bedding, mattresses and cribs available for sale to be deeply unsettling.  The CDC estimated in 2010 that children under 4 are at greatest risk in of fire-related injuries and deaths, which impact almost 16,000 Americans each year.

Nowhere amidst the counterfeit products does PickOfChina.com indicate that these items comply with current fire-safety regulations issued by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to protect our little ones. Analysis of this rogue site shows that PickOfChina.com is part of a network of at least 50 rogue sites operating out of China, with more than 400,000 unique visitors each month. That is too many opportunities to sell hazardous counterfeits.
